sheep and patience.

Things people ask
before buying wool
to put in a sauna.
If you have a question we haven’t answered, write to Rozika directly — she reads every email. hello@getcozyrozy.com
Who is Rozika?
Our grandmother. She has been working with wool her whole life, in a family workshop in Bohinj that has been running for decades. We needed a sauna hat we actually liked. We asked her. She showed us how to cut the felt, how to read the material, how to finish the edge by hand. That afternoon turned into this. The name is split between us — Cozy for the warmth, Rozy for her. Every hat is shaped by her hands.
Do I really need a sauna hat?
Yes. Your scalp overheats faster than the rest of you. Wool felt slows that down — you stay in comfortably 15 to 30 minutes longer. It also protects your hair from repeated direct heat. There is a quieter reason too: putting the hat on is a gesture. It marks the start of something intentional.
What does a sauna hat actually do?
It keeps heat off the crown of your head, which is where you overheat first. Wool insulates against both hot air and steam, so you can stay in the löyly another ten to fifteen minutes. Not a gimmick. Finns have done it for a century.
Is wool in a sauna actually hygienic?
Yes — wool is naturally antibacterial and wicks moisture away. Rinse in cool water after each session, reshape on a towel, air dry away from direct sun. A well-cared-for felt hat lasts a decade.
Will it shrink or warp?
Not in normal use. Avoid high heat when drying — no radiators, no dryers. If the felt gets misshapen, rewet gently and reshape on your head or a bowl.
Do you ship outside the EU?
Yes, we currently ship to 12 countries. EU shipping is free over €75; outside the EU it’s a flat €14 and takes 7–10 working days.
How is this different from a synthetic sauna hat?
Synthetics melt in a hot sauna. Felt wool doesn’t. The difference between a polyester shirt and a linen one is the difference between a plastic hat and this.
Why “batches” instead of constant availability?
Because one person makes them on a kitchen table. Each batch is 40–180 hats; they take three to six weeks. The waitlist is how you know when the next batch is ready.
Are CozyRozy hats available to order now?
Not yet. We are launching on Kickstarter this spring. Send word above and the first batch finds you first — with founder pricing.
Slow letters from the workshop.
One email every few weeks. New batches, occasional photos of sheep. Never more than once a fortnight.
